Abstract

The collection of essays assembled here is a shining example of the vast heterogeneity of applied research using mixed methods. Furthermore, the transdisciplinary scholarship represented by this issue engages sex, sexuality and gender in ways that destabilize the binary and dichotomous categories of male and female, insider and outsider, gay and straight, and adults and children. Rather this work ‘mixes it up’ and in so doing offers us new possibilities and potentials to expand our own scholarship. We invite you to join us in the cross pollination.

Keywords: gender and sexuality research, mixed methods, multiple approaches, mixing, transdisciplinary, non-binary gender
